Bear Lake 2011

we have been wanting to go to Bear Lake for the last 2 years and we finally did it! We packed up the trailer and got a great camp spot and invited our friends the Norbys to tag along with their tent.

Mitch dug himself a little hole and just hung out there for about 30 min. laying in the sun

Anson looked long and hard for some frogs he saw earlier.

are from but Ithink the word would be "rotten". They smelt funny

rinsing off the sand!

we took a side venture to the Minnetonka cave! Very cool

the entrance was kinda scary. It started straight down into darkness!

we had to stop on our way out for the famous raspberry shakes! They were delicious. On a side note......Aaron has been enlightened on how to spell raspberry. He did not know there was a "p" in the word.

Best birthday ever!!

Last year my birthday was just crappy! I turned 40 and I had strep throat and I did nothing but be misserable. This year was the opposite! I hada great day. I got out and did some shopping and while I was looking for something in Hobby Lobby.......my friend Lynne (who is from Illinois) came up behind me and surprised me!! She had flown in for my birthday!! She got to stay for a few days so we went and got our hair done and did alot more shopping. She had planned this with Aaron and I had no idea.

Lynne is a friend from college and then a mission comp and then a co-worker. Needless to say, we have alot of history. She also grew up with Aaron! It was so great to see her and get caught up. Love U Lynne, thanks for comming!

So this year for our 13th year, Aaron surprised me with earrings! He went to Jared's!. (I always wanted to say that). Can't believe it has been that long. I love you Big A and sooo glad I have you forever! I couldn't ask for a better husband or father to my kids. Happy Anniversary.

In the early afternoon we get together at my mom and dad's place to play and eat.

We put up a big black tarp down the hill in the back yard and sprayed water on it for a huge slip and slide. All the kids decided to go down at the same time.

ahhhh..... memories. It really is an amazing site to see so many balloons in one park.

This was a second annual visit to the Provo Freedom Festival Balloon Launch. We wake up at 6am and be down in Provo by 7 to watch dozens of hot air balloons fill the morning sky. It really is quite the show. We then go out to breakfast and we are back home in bed by 9. :)

So our dentist recommended that we get started with working on Anson's teeth. His back 2 teeth sit side ways so we needed to straighten them out. So.....we found a great Orthodontist and got this lovely piece of gear installed. I have a key that goes in a whole and I turn it 3x a week. He will probably have it for about 9 months. Anson thinks it's cool and is very aware of what he can and can't eat. Yeah for dental work!!

Lehi Miniture Float Parade

Our ward makes a float every year for the last week of June for the Lehi Round Up week. For the past couple of years we have placed very high in the judging. We have taken first place, Sweepstakes and this year, 2nd. The theme was "Remember your first taste of ..." and we chose freedom. We made out of paper mache a VW bug, hippy style that was broken down and falling apart. We even had it smoking out the back.

this tree was my favorite. It was sooo cute.

These floats usually take every sat. plus more toward the end for about 2 months.

It's alot of hard work and time but we were very proud of our little car. My kids also walked in the parade with Aaron and I.

Morgan turns 7

Morgan had her birthday and she turned 7. Wow, where has the time gone? She is such a joy to our family and we are so glad to have her. We love you Boggs!

her favorite gift was an ipod shuffle. We put her favorite songs on it and she can just dance all she wants.

It all started with the symtoms of a UTI. Went to the Dr., got an antibiotic. When that didn't work, called the Dr for something stronger, didn't work. By now it was a Friday of course and I was NOT happy!! Went to the instacare on Sunday morning and they ordered a CT scan. So ended up at the hospital ER only to find......a Kidney Stone! 4 mm

called a Urologist on Monday, got in to see him and had surgery on Tues. at 6 am! It was stuck and because of it's size, they went in and got it. Needless to say..... a few days after that I'm feeling so much better!
The Dr let me keep it. :)

Camp Jeremiah Johnson

In June Anson got to go to scout day camp! This is a good time for all the boys. This year, I got to go to help out and we had a blast!

This year, I have to say that I really lucked out!! We had the most amazing teachers ever. Mrs. Penafiel for first grade.

Dance

I put Morgan in dance at the beginning of the year with her friend Alli. This is her teacher Miss Amber who has a little dance studio in her home. Morgan has really liked it. She learned jazz and ballet.

In June they had their performance with 2 danced. The ballet was Tinkerbell and the jazz was to Miley Cyrus. She did great!

I put Mitch in swim lessons while the kids were still in school to give him something to do. He did soooo good. He learned to dive and float and alot of safety techniques. His teacher , Alisha is amazing and was so patient.

I was so proud of him. After the first 5 lessons, he stopped crying and swallowing water and really started to really learn.

I decided to attempt a buttercream transfer for Mitchells cake. He wanted a "dog" cake so I just drew up a simple dog face cause I couldnt find one that I liked. Then I copied a you tube lady on how to do it. I am pretty proud of myself cause it is harder than it looks! My next try will be better now I know a little more.

He got a bike!! Cant ride it yet, but he can stand on it!

He had a great day and of course we bent bowling!

Arkansas cousins

Some of our cousins came out from Arkansas for General Conference this year. They had tickets for a Sat. session and the priesthood session. It was a quick visit but we will take what we can get. It's always fun to play with cousins.

Morgan FINALLY lost her first top tooth after hanging by a few threads for about 2 weeks!! She was soooo happy that I pulled it out, she was dancing around and clapping.

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas this year even though Dec was pretty warm. Christmas morning came and we were up by 7am. I love watching my kids get so excited they can hardly stand it. It's so funny and brings back many childhood memories for me.

We did our traditional gingerbread houses (pics to come) and also enjoyed doing the 12 days of Christmas for someone again this year. The kids love to knock and run and think it is so funny that they dont know who we are.

Mitch wore his halloween costume all day. He was calling himself "bat puppie" ( he is really into batman these days).

Anson has turned 9 years old!!

This year Aaron wanted to start a new tradition on birthdays so before school he headed out for doughnuts! Cant beat Lehi bakery. So with sugar for breakfast Anson headed off to school and later that evening we went bowling and had pizza. We even splurged and payed a little extra to have the VIP lounge with couches!! After that we came home for cake and ice cream. Yes, I know, but once a year I let my children eat like this. :)

Then Monday after school she let me pull her other one that was also loose.

It was about time! Most her friends have lost teeth already and she was wondering if it would EVER happen to her.

We finally found a Friday that would work with everyone and we did it!! It was raining as we packed up the camper but we tried to be positive and kept going. We left Thurs evening and stayed for 2 nights. We went up to Granite Flats campground and it was beautiful and NOT hot.

4th of July week

This is going to be a huge post......so hang in there. This week was a whirlwind of sun and cousins!! My brother Matt came into town from AZ with his family and my brother Kyle also flew in from Ohio so we all got to be together for a few days.

Well, we could not waist any time so we started on Sat. with a hike up to Bridal Veil falls. It was beautiful and sooooo crowded!

We then went out to breakfast and even caught some of the parade.

We then had a bbq at grandmas and more slip and slide while we waited for the dark.

Tuesday we headed to our favorite pool....the Lindon Aquatic Center. Then back to grandma's for dinner. Wed. we headed out to the zoo and it was HOT.

We took it easy and just played and ate for the next 2 days. Hope to see all the cousins next year. Thanks for the great memories! I love my family.

Lehi Parade

We have just finished with Lehi Round-up week which ended with our miniture float parade. Each ward in Lehi, (well there were 37) , makes a small float that the primary walks with along with the bishopbric and it gets judged according to the theme. The theme this year was

"guess what I saw....."

I got put on the float commity this year and got to be part of making our FIRST place float!! That's right, we took first place! I am very proud of our cute purple cow, Violet. She is made of paper mache, some chicken wire, a bit of wood for stability and 3 hoola hoops! We had some real talented people building her and it all payed off. We even made the Daily Harold!

Mitch was in his first parade and did great!! He had his little buddy Avery in the wagon with him.

Today my baby girl tuned 6!! She has grown so fast. I have absolutly loved having a girl and she brings such joy into our home. She is a little mother to her baby brother and likes everyone and will eat everything! She is funny and very thoughtful. We love you Morgan!! Thanks for choosing our family.

I have been thinking for a while now of cutting Morgans hair and I finally did. She took a good 3 inches off and added some layers and now she looks like this.

The best thing of all is Morgan could really care less, so I just do what I want to. It's like having my own personal Barbie doll. This will be easier for summer and much cooler. :)

Another special day has come and gone in Anson's life. Feb. 6 2010 he was baptized by his father. He has been waiting for this day and when it finally came he got a little nervous but all turned out well. It was a great day!

Thanks to all my family who came to support us. We are missing Jeff and Jodi's family because they woke up sick. Missed you guys, and of course all our family out of state

Yeah! I know 2 posts in one day. Go me. We finally got our new sectional delivered after about 3 weeks of waiting. (Lucy had to be de clawed first) We gave away our old couches and sold the lovely blue chair on KSL and got this.......... Now we can all sit on the same couch!

I was laughing when I took this foto but I also felt so sorry for her. Lucy got fixed and de-clawed at the same time! She now wears the cone of shame and it's funny cause she cant hear the best with it on so she is really easy to scar. They shaved her belly and she is dying to clean herself but can't reach. Poor kitty.

8 years old

I really can't believe that my little boy has turned 8 already! The thought puts me in a bit of a panic, wondering if I have taught him enough and is he ready to be accountable when he is baptized next month. Anyway, this birthday is a special one in more ways than one, not only does he get baptized but he has started cub scouts and is sooo excited to finally be in there with his friends.

Also this is the first year he gets a "friend" birthday party. So we took 5 extra boys plus our crew and went bowling. They had a great time. The bowling alley gave him a real bowling pin that says "happy birthday Anson" and all the kids signed it. We had pizza, cake and ice cream.

And this lovely cake was my attempt to make a lego cake! Awsome!

We had a great Christmas this year. Santa sent the kids an e-mail video that was awesome!
I love to see them get sooo excited that they are going to explode! It's my favorite thing.

It's a sad and exciting day. My little sister Callie is off to Ghana Africa today for 2 months.

She is in charge of 6 other girls and they are all going to be teaching sign languge at Kibi Middle School for the Deaf. It's a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere. She could not be any more excited. Her family is a bit nervous but she is starting an adventure of a life time and I am excited for her. Good luck Callie and please be safe!!

So it took all summer but we finally got our turn for swim lessons at Jan Lambs Swim School.

They both did great and Anson found out that he does so much better with goggles. He had a rough start but ended up lovin it. I'm so proud of both of them.

Anson was very excited to start 2nd grade in a new school. NO uniforms! He has got a great teacher and even a friend from across the street is in his class. The first thing he said to me when I picked him up was "wicked fun mom!" Good thing I know what that means.

I have had the rare opportunity to see people from my mission whom I taught, are active and have even gone through the temple. I have had the opportunity twice. The Abarca family have come up to visit Utah again and when they come they bring me my favorite salsa and cook me my favorite food that I miss and crave so much. These people are the best of the best and I love them like my own.

I was blessed with a visit from a great long time friend. Lynne and I went to college together then got called to Costa Rica on our missions. She was 3 months ahead of me then her last month we got to be comps. We came home and she moved to Utah and we worked at the same place for several years after that. She got married first then moved away. She is now in Illinois and her visits are few and far between but when she does come to Utah we have a good time reminiscing as we have ALOT of history together. She also grew up with Aaron so we are connected in many ways. Thanks for coming Skinny, it is always great to see you. I love you.

I'm a bit behind I know. The city of Lehi, on the 24th, had a bunch of fire trucks come down to the ball park and fill the field with foam! (the stuff the puts out fires) They had another truck spraying water to rinse off. They also had watermelon for everyone! So we went to check it out.

It was CRAZY with kids!

We then had cousins come down for a BBQ. Then off to the Joneses for fire works.

Aaron spent a good portion of 2 days looking for parts to make is car go the fastest. He was very proud of the final product and he did take 2nd place. Not much to look at but it was fast.

Anson loved getting involved and racing as much as Aaron.

As of the 4th of July.....my baby is no longer in a crib. He has been sleeping in his toddler bed that I just set up in his room and hasn't looked back. The sad part is that because he is my last, as he grows out of phases in his life I know I will never go through them again. (next is his binki)

4th of July Activities

I have about 6 things to post about so I'm going to do one big post. Stay with me...

1. Started with the Lehi Round-up week of rodeo fun with motorcycle jumpers and buckin bulls. Aaron got sick and decided to stay home with Mitchell so we took Grandma!

2. A few parades. Anson walked in 2 of them with his dad. Morgan only made it 1x then opted to watch the second one. Our ward float took 1st place!

3. In the middle of all this Anson fell in the shower and got the wind knocked out of him and when I pulled back the shower curtis he was SCREAMING and he had this on his back.
CRAZY!

4. We had a family Wilson picnic BBQ in a park and the park bordered a horse pasture. Well I was over with the kids looking at the horses and reached through the fence to pet the horse. I did not know it was an electric fence and I got shocked! It went through my whole body and settled in to my teeth ( my silver fillings that I still have). It took a minuet to shake it off and realize what had happened but after about 20 minuets I was good as new. I am glad that it was me and not a child.

5. The 4th of July we headed over to my parents for another BBQ and fireworks. We all had a great time and with no injuries.

5 years old

They sure grow fast is all I can say. She has been on the count down for her birthday for about the last 8 months and it FINALLY came. Her favorite present was some lip gloss that Anson gave her. (still very easy to please). Morgan has been a joy in our home, she is the happy one that laughs and sings and danced ALL the time. She says the funniest things that we are always laughing. She has been telling me for the last year that when she turns 5 she will wipe her own bum. So stay tuned..... We love you Morgan

An extra special Father's Day

This Father's Day we will remember for years to come. Not only do we have a great father for our little family, but now he will be a great father to our ward. Aaron was sustained as Bishop on Father's Day. It was an emotional day and with alot of mixed feelings we bid farewell to our awesome Bishop Searle we have had for 7 years.

I just have to say that I am very proud of Aaron. He has come a long way from when we first met in 96. I was with him when he got ordained a Priest and then again when he took out his endowments and again when we were sealed. :) Aaron has a great love for the youth and will be a great Bishop! I love you Aaron.

So we are finally harvesting from our spring garden that we started in May and I just have to say how proud I am of my little garden. Most of it I have never done before .... and yes, this excites me. Just look how pretty it all is! yuuummmy!

Safety Kit

Anson came to me the other day and told me he had made his own "safety kit". I asked him what that was and explained everything he had put in his school pack pack. I must say I am pretty impressed and glad he is paying attention to what I have been trying to do.

He included his scriptures, a flashlight, his telescope, Morgan's play cell phone, a water bottle, a blanket and a McDonald's toy....then he added Morgan's guide book she made in school called "What did the caterpillar eat?" I can only assume that the book will help him find food in a survival situation.

Last day of 1st grade

The last day of school Anson wanted me to be there so of course I took my camera and when I got it out, everyone wanted their photo taken with Anson. I was kinda funny. Thank heavens for the 'delete' button. He has made some good friends and they will be missed over the summer.

When the last bell rang, the secretary came over the announcements and said, "last one out is a rotten egg!" The kids ran screaming for the doors. It was pretty funny. Also walking out the doors with all the crazy kids were 4 boys a year older than Anson who were CRYING and hugging each other cause their school year of fun was over and they wouldn't see each other every day anymore.

Morgan has finally done it! She has served her time in preschool and has now completed the 2 year course. We are so proud of you Morgan! We wish her good luck in Kindergarten!! (yes she has on a garbage bag)

Spring break

This year for spring break our cousin Lindsey and Uncle Lee drove out from Arkansas for a few days on their way to Rexburg. Lindsey is starting school up their so Lee drove her out here then flew home. It was so good to see them and the kids LOVED playing with their Uncle Lee and he even stayed to celebrate his b-day with us.

We also had time to go up the Sandy Living Aquarium and the kids loved that! The favorite part was getting to have the shrimp clean our fingers! We definitely saw some cool stuff.

Easter

Mitchell's second birthday happened to fall on Easter this year so we had double the fun. I can't believe my baby is 2. Also this year the Easter bunny just left us a note that he would be late this year but he took our baskets to fill while we had early morning church at 9am. When we got home he had hidden the eggs and brought back our baskets. We then headed out to grandma's for dinner and our traditional egg hunt with all the cousins. Good times!

I have been in a little slump on what to blog about until last night. I bought Morgan her first shower cap and she thought it was the best thing ever! She seriously giggled and danced through her entire shower and I just had to take photos

St. Patricks Day

So Anson came home from school yesterday and was determined to make a leprechaun trap. To make a long story short...we ended up with about 12 kids at our house and about 4 different traps. Good times.

Draper Temple

We were able to take the kids through the temple. I think Anson understood alot more that Morgan. They all did so well with being quiet and reverent. The sweetest thing was that Anson fully expected to see Jesus there. It's a beautiful temple. I was surprised at how small it is. The whole tour took us about 3 hours!! We did alot of waiting around.

The kids have been so excited to sleep in our new camper that they have been bugging Aaron every night. So he told them when everyone stopped coughing and sniffing and was feeling good when it was a bit warmer they would sleep out there. Well that time came and as you can see....Aaron is thrilled!!

As for me and Mitch, we stayed in our own comfy beds.

They were all locked inside for about 30 min. when Morgan decideds she needs to go potty, so Aaron says he probably should too and Anson was NOT going to stay out there by himself.

They all went back out to bed and were back in the house by 6:30am.

So much fun!

Valentine's Day!

So after being in Jessica Madsen's house last week (my cute little neighbor), I decided that I am NOT a fun mom. She was all decorated for v-day as she does for every holiday and I started thinking that I really only decorate for Christmas. What a boring mom I am. So with my new goal of being fun and making good and happy memories for my kids, I attempted to make a memory or possibly a tradition of some kind. So I spent a few hours cutting out hearts and making signs. This was my finished product. After they fell asleep I decorated their bedroom doors.

The only response I got was from Morgan who asked, " mom, who gave me a balloon?" Well I guess I have a whole year to think of something else to do that might work better.

Our new camper

We have been looking for a camper for almost a year now and this GREAT deal popped up and so we got it. The kids of course want to sleep in it every night. Now if the snow will melt we can't wait to use it. Aaron is already planning out our summer. We call it our 72 hour kit.

Anson's birthday

A sure sign of old age

So Sunday night Aaron and I went to my sister Callie's Christmas concert. She is in the UVU institute choir. For those who don't know about Callie, she is my only sister and we are 16 years apart.... making her 22.

So the concert ends and Callie comes down to a small circle of family and friends to tell her what a great job she did.. yada yada. So in this small group of people is a friend of Callie's I have never seen before, along with my brother and sister in law with their baby. So this girl turns to Stacey, my sister in law and says, " are you Callie's sister?" Stacey says "no, I'm the sister in law and this is my baby." She then turns to me and says, "and your the mom?" Stacey busts out laughing as I say, "no, I'm the sister" she says "oh, sorry, so your the OLDER sister." yes, I am.

Now the rest of the evening at the institute is a blur as I am instantly aware of every wrinkle and grey hair on my head. All I remember is that she STUCK AROUND! I would think she would be embarrassed and take off, but no she just hung around right by my side as everyone visited. Then when we decided to leave she was right there with us and walked out the same time. Holy crap! .... get lost

I guess I could have had Callie when I was 16. It's not impossible... but geezzz really?
